Centered along the I-64/Highway 40 corridor, Chesterfield Commons is one of the largest outdoor shopping centers in the country. At over 2 million-square-feet, this retail center brings together the top retailers in the industry.
The Great Flood of 1993 inundated the Chesterfield Valley, which lies along the banks of the Missouri River. When the floodwaters receded, Brinkmann Constructors transformed 150 acres into 800,000-square-feet of retail anchored by a 129,000-square-foot Wal-Mart, 115,000-square-foot Lowe’s, and 130,000-square-foot Sam’s Club. This project consisted of complete flood infrastructure improvements and a $10 million highway interchange to lure retail giants.
Innovative solutions for the storm sewer systems and pavement alternatives saved our client approximately $200,000.
