Tallgrass Creek Senior Living

This 221,230-square-foot multi-phase senior living development in Overland Park, Kan. known as Tallgrass Creek highlights Brinkmann Constructors’ capabilities with early involvement in the project design ensuring creative engineering solutions for the client.

Assisted Living Facility

This 24,000-square-foot assisted living building with an attached 9,000-square-foot common area via connecting walkway was the first phase of a multi-phase retirement community project. The assisted living building is a 28-unit, single-story wood structure residence offering studio, one and two bedroom apartments. The split-level design of the attached common area  offers public amenities such as common dining rooms on the first floor and a commercial kitchen on the second floor designed to serve the entire community. Additional amenities include a full-service salon, movie theater, sales and administrative offices, conference rooms, laundry facilities, post office boxes and secured courtyard with water feature and lush landscaping. The buildings are fully equipped with medical monitoring equipment.

Phase one of this project was completed in just six months at a total cost of $6.1 million.

Memory Care Unit

Phase two consisted of a 52,302-square-foot memory care and skilled nursing facility. The memory care building is a 28-unit, single-story wood structure residence offering private one bedroom apartments designed and built with the dementia patient in mind. The building is fully equipped with state-of-the-art nurse call, monitoring and security and access control. The skilled nursing building is a 39-unit, single-story wood structure residence offering one bedroom apartments and semi-private pods.

Phase two was completed in just six months at a total cost of $7.4 million.

Residential Building

The third phase of Tallgrass Creek is a 115,000-square-foot, 87-unit, 4-story wood construction apartment building with 20,000-square-foot 2-story cast-in-place concrete parking garage. This structure is being added to two other residential buildings previously constructed. The beautiful 4-story building offers services and amenities to encourage and support independent living.

This phase is valued at $15.4 million and is scheduled for completion in 2014.
