Brinkmann Constructors has begun construction on another phase of the Wind Crest Senior Living project in Highlands Ranch, Colorado by Erickson Living, a developer of campus-style retirement communities throughout the United States. This is the fifth phase that Brinkmann will build at the development and it will consist of a 150,000 square-foot Independent Living facility with 99 units in addition to a two-story, 60,000 square-foot parking structure.  Brinkmann is providing pre-construction, construction management and general contracting services for this project.  It is scheduled to be complete in December 2016.

Brinkmann began working on Wind Crest in 2012 with the $16 million Continuing Care Center, a 127,200 square-foot, four-story mixed-use senior care facility which includes a total of 136 patient rooms for skilled nursing, assisted living and memory care, as well as associated common amenity spaces. The second phase was the construction of a $20.5 million, 178,800 square-foot, 102 unit Independent Living senior housing apartment facility with  integral amenity spaces including creative arts room, fitness room, dining hall, café/bar, private dining hall, full commercial kitchen, and outdoor courtyard/patio dining space with built-in fireplace and grille counter. The third building Brinkmann constructed was another Independent Living apartment building with 74 units and a total of 127,200 square feet. Brinkmann recently completed a $13 million Community Building at Wind Crest that includes 30 units, an auditorium and other amenities.
